How Do You Spell Genius? G-e-n-e-s-i-s

August 11, 2010
click for larger imageThe Tyler Literacy Council Corporate Spelling Bee combined fun, food, a touch of zaniness, and a whole lot of linguistic aptitude in a great community-wide event. Congratulations to Team Genesis (Jan Roberts, Greg Hendry and Robert Boggs) for spelling their way to success! While they were bested by the word "Rauwolfia" (try working that one into casual conversation at the dinner table tonight), they came in third in a formidable field of 16 teams. The event helped raise awareness of literacy efforts in the Tyler area. In short, we created quite a buzz.

APCO 2010 in Review

August 4, 2010
Interoperability and broadband mobile were two major themes of the week which still resound in the halls of the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. We "geeked out" at emerging technology, but most importantly, we forged new relationships as well as galvanized existing ones. Everyone at Genesis extends their appreciation to the hundreds of people who stopped by our booth. Let's get together and do it again...Say, next year in Philly?

Glimpses of APCO 2010:

Genesis Announces Partnership With Radio IP

August 3, 2010
click for larger imageToday, the Genesis Group and mobile-VPN developer Radio IP Software announced a technology partnership that will allow Genesis to develop reporting solutions for Radio IP's family of mobile VPN products.

Through this partnership, Genesis will provide reporting tools to Radio IP. In turn, Radio IP will provide Genesis with a valuable entry into the rapidly expanding mobile broadband world.

New Genesis reports capture statistics such as trunk utilization, network and VPN connectivity issues, roaming frequency and more.

"We're extremely proud to partner with Radio IP, a leader for the coming high speed wireless data explosion. This is a case of two 'best of breed' companies in conversation about each other's needs, with the result being one very strong partnership of talent," says Genesis President, Phil Burks.

Genesis Welcomes Dawn Lopez

August 3, 2010
A California native, Dawn's career in Public Safety Communications began nearly 20 years ago as a police/fire/EMD dispatcher. Later, she hired on at Riverside County, where she moved up the ladder from dispatcher to supervisor. For the past five years, Dawn worked on the PSEC (Public Safety Enterprise Communications) Project beginning with the evaluation of proposals, contract development, and detail design and into the construction phase. The PSEC Project is Riverside County's new Motorola 700MHz/800MHz trunked radio system. Through her valuable connections at Riverside County, Dawn was instrumental in the development of the Genesis GADI solution. We are grateful to say Dawn has now joined with Genesis as our Senior Public Safety Consultant.
