The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA)
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority operates a Motorola Simulcast SmartZone Trunking system that connects Washington Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport together. Both of these airports are located near Washington DC. area. Genesis supplied our GenSZAI Suite to monitor the ATIA data stream and build a database of all call and site activity. From this database, reports and graphs can be done to track system usage and radio usage. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is also using EzBill, from Genesis, to help keep track of IDs, radios and groups that are on the system. Additionally, GenWatchxl is used to provide additional system administration information.
Note: Tthis does not imply an endorsement of Genesis by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
Island SMR, Inc.
It was tough duty, but someone had to do it! We're happy to announce that Island SMR is now offically open for business in beautiful downtown Honolulu Hawaii. Phil (and his wife) had the difficult (ha) job of traveling to Honolulu and conducting a TrunkSmart class for Bill, Mark and Katsu (and others!). Island SMR is associated with Asia Pacific Communications which also operates a trunk system in Guam (where they also use GTMS). Mark (front) handles all of the day to day GTMS operations from their offices in Honolulu. If you're looking for an 'excuse' to go to 'paradise', we're sure they would invite you in for some coconut milk! Aloha!
Tri-County Communications, Inc.
We have just completed a personalized TrunkSmart training class for Tri-County Communications located in the Texas valley, near to the Mexico border. TriCounty has seen tremendous growth in their SMR operations in the past year and it was time to refine their skills. Tony Brunnemann, (left), Is the General Manager of their operations both in the USA and in Mexico. Others in the photo are : (top row) Sal Padilla, manager of Mexican operations; Hortencia Murillo, accounting; Linda Odoms, data operations manager; Leo Marroquin, sales manager; Claude Copeland, chief technician; (lower row) Dalilia Arreola Alvarez, Mexico data operations; Delia Castillo, client care; and Marcie Gamez, manager of accounting for Tri-County and Russell Farms. We congradulate Tri-County for having the desire to always improve their client care, marketing and billing accuracy! |

Palmetto 800
December 11, 2001- Palmetto 800 Awards Sale to GIL
On June 18, 2001 it was official. Motorola purchased the South Carolina SmartZone trunking system that was formerly owned by SCANA Communications. The system, now being called the Palmetto 800 SmartZone Trunking System, is a Wide Area Communications system for Public Safety Agencies and Electric Utilities. It covers most of the state of South Carolina and currently Motorola is expanding its coverage. Motorola wanted to do a major upgrade to the current billing system. They wanted a state of the art billing and management that was tailored to SmartZone systems. Trio, along with GenSZAI was the answer. Four key Motorola executives met in the Genesis Tyler offices on December 11, 2001 to finalize the transaction and to get the construction of the servers underway. Implementation began in February, 2002 and went live in March, 2002. Since that time Genesis has enhanced Trio with many options and features to work in the Motorola-owned SmartZone environment.

FleetTalk
The name Jerry Parrish or Bob McGowan might ring a bell with many have been around Motorola and the SMR / Trunking business for any amount of time. They, along with other partners have opened FleetTalk Management Services, Ltd. At this time they are managing a large number of Motorola and LTR trunk systems for Nextel. From Las Vegas and Rockaway NJ (near Newark), FleetTalk uses our EzBill, EzSave and Genesis Trio to manage their operations. Genesis software helps them keep accurate records of radios and send invoices to clients such as Home Depot, Airborne Express, and hundreds of others. Genesis provided on site installation and training due to the large volume of data that was being converted and entered into EzBill and Genesis Trio. This took one week in Las Vegas in 2001 and two weeks in the New Jersy offices in May, 2003. Moving forward, Genesis supports both of the FleetTalk locations by T1 Internet connections and pcAnywhere.
In Memoriam – Jerry Parrish who was a long time Motorolan ran the FleetTalk offices in Las Vegas until he passed away in 2002. He will be missed.
