Call Rating Day Part
At the highest level, you can graphically setup how each of your day types is segmented. As you see, in this example, we have selected Weekday. Within that weekday, we decide that hours are to be considered as Prime Time and which are Off Prime. This is a global 'template' that is used as a starting point. Later on in the Rate Plans, these can be adjusted and customized. |
|
Setup the Year
Once you have created the Day Types that include how each day is segmented, you setup an entire year to show which days are holidays, weekends, etc. Don't worry, this is simple to do and we have included wizards to make it a fast task. |
|
Services Setup
For the most part, the types of services that you offer on your iDEN system are fairly well set. In other words, you have the following types of services:
- Private Conversation Airtime
- Dispatch Airtime
- Telephone Airtime
- Long Distance
- Voice Mail
We know that not every iDEN system will have Telephone, as an example. Here, you tell Trio not only that you have these types of services, but also that you want to bill for these services. REMEMBER- All of these Trio Level setup items can be modified as you create Rate Plans. |
|
Account Level Charges Setup
This screen lets you create the available type of charges that would be applied to accounts. Remember that each wizard will step you through the process so that if you come back to a screen months later and you cannot remember what to do first or how to add a charge (as an example), you do not have to refer to a manual or a help system and then back to each field. The Trio Wizards will guide you through each step very gently! |

Company Level Billing Setup Options |
Company Billing Cycles
Each company that you have set up within Genesis Trio can have many billing cycles that you setup. Here, you define those cycles in a graphical way. We have you use a calendar to make things easy for you to understand. Typical cycles that you will setup are-
- Monthly
- Quarterly
- Semi-Annual
- Annual
This allows you maximum flexibility. Difficult? No. We graphically show you how it all fits together so it is easy to understand. |

Company Level Technical Questions
This screen has some of the Company level options for Trio. You can specify a mask for a Corporate Control Number for accounts. You may specify whether or not you want to use prorating or reverse prorating. You may also specify how you want the due date to look on invoices. |

System by System Level Billing Setup Options |
System Billing
Trio is designed to bill fixed charges in advance for the coming month or months. Trio also has the current 'On Air' invoice already prepared so that it can be pulled up at any time to view the current status of the customer. This way, if a unit comes on to your system or goes off, the current invoice is updated with this information and fixed charges are ALWAYS accurate. |
|
Site Cluster Billing
Site Cluster Billing (SCB) is 100% unique to Trio! A SmartZone system is designed to look like one large system. That is a good thing, unless you want to bill different rates at different sites under different conditions! SCB allows you to define what sites are in a cluster and then give it an alias. As you can see in this graphic, there is a Site Cluster called "ETMC - Zone 1 Cluster". On the left side you can see all of the available sites in your system and on the right you see all of the sites that have been included in the "ETMC - Zone 1 Cluster". Later, in billing, you can define that if a radio initiates a call from within his home Site Cluster, he can have a different rate (maybe it is lower) than if he initiates from outside his home Site Cluster (and then you charge him a "roaming" rate). The map lets a customer service rep. visually see the clusters that you have defined in your system. This is a really cool and unique feature! |

 |
Commissions
This can get very, very complex. We have created a way for you to setup just about any commissioning scheme you can come up with. You first create all the individual commissions you wish to offer. Then, you combine these commissions into commission templates. You can then assign these commission templates to salespeople. This flexible design allows you to be as creative as you want. |
|
Defining Telephone Dialing Exchanges
Trio handles Long Distance (LD) billing surcharges and/or local billing surcharges by allowing you to enter the 'pattern' of the calls that a radio will dial. In this screen you identify every pattern that would be dialed and you name that pattern. You also tell Trio if a call is made to this exchange, or dialed in this type of pattern, if this call is local or LD. Patterns can be as general or specific as you want them to be. As an example, in the USA, if you want to allow calls to the entire USA for $.10/min. you would simply enter a '1*' and you're covered. If you want to only bill $.10/min. for calls to Midland, Texas, your pattern would be '1915*'. You get the idea. In the Rate Plan Exchanges screen, below, we put the charges on the exchanges. |
|
Call Rounding Rules
This screen has a lot of power and that power will grow as Trio matures. As you can see on the screen, you have the power to eliminate any call that is shorter than 'xx' sec. Why? You may make that a marketing bonus and say that if you keep a call shorter than 30 seconds, it will be as though it never was made! We also allow you to delete misdialed calls if they should end up appearing in the CDR output from the iDEN system switch. You can also tell Trio how to round calls, if you would like to round calls. The third section allows you to say that if a call is >30sec., it gets rounded to 1 minute. If a call is 1:15, it stays at 1:15. In short, there is a lot of power here. |
|
Templates
You start here (or through the Wizard) to give your Template a name, such as: Gold Plan; Silver Plan; Platinum Plan. You get the idea. Here you also define when this plan will take effect, when it will end, and when it ends, Revert To another Rate Plan that you have defined. The Long Distance Rate that is here is what we call a 'safety net'. If for some reason a telephone call falls through all other rating logic and we cannot figure out how to bill the long distance portion, this is the rate that will be charged for the LD portion of the call. |
|
Template Available Services
For each template, we can select each of the Services (Dispatch Airtime, Telephone Airtime Private Conversation, etc.) that we want to charge for. We can accept the charges that we have setup at the Trio level or we can modify them for this template. |
|
Template Call Rating
Here Trio allows you to customize the global settings you made at the Trio program level. Here, you can set up and customize an entire year with Call Rating schemes that you have created. |
|
Template Exchanges
In a screen above, you defined the telephone exchanges that you want to watch for. Here, you define how to bill for those exchanges in this Rate Plan. As you can see, you can set rates for Prime, Off Prime, Weekend and Holiday. You can also say that every minute of a call is charges the same or as a call goes longer, the rate goes up or goes down. Your choice. Powerful! |
|
Rate Plan Reporting
Once you have taken the time to setup your Rate Plan Templates, we think that you would like a way to report on all of the plans and put them into a sales binder, or on your web site, etc. Here is a sample of what that report looks like. This is one that we setup and called it the $99.99 Service Plan. Each Rate Plan that you create can have few 'services' or many. You would market this as the "$99.99 Service Plan" which consists of- Unlimited Caller ID, Unlimited Call Waiting, 500 Dispatch calls per month (you can also setup minutes rather than calls), 900 minutes of Telephone Airtime, Unlimited Voice Mail, ALL for $99.99 per month. Lots of power here!! |
|
Account Level Billing Setup Options |
Account 'Technical' Info
As you click on the screen to enlarge it, you'll see what we mean by Billing Technical information. These are miscellaneous questions that need to be set to properly bill an account. This is where you select the Billing Cycle (how often this account is billed), The SIC Code (what type of business it is), VIP Code (how important is this client in your business scheme), Invoice Detail (from simply a summary to total detail for each radio), special comments for the client's invoice, etc. |
|
Account Charges
When you enter a new account there might be some charges that are only applicable at the account level, not the radio level. As an example, let's say you charge $5 for a detailed invoice. That is an account level charge. Here is where you would view that charge once it has been added to the account. All of your Charge Types were setup at the Trio level above. They will appear in the left most window. You highlight a charge from the right side and click on the '<' arrow to remove that charge from the Account. Also as you see, you can modify the amount billed as well as the quantity billed. |

Airtime Crunching
Trio is so automatic. As the airtime files are received from the DAP, MLC, Nortel, etc. they are processed behind the scenes automatically. There is a log file that will show you the last time a file was downloaded from the MSO and the time that the processing of the calls (we call it "crunching") was complete. With this method, Trio can provide near realtime billing for airtime. This also means that having pre-pay customers is much more of a reality. After a crunching session, an evaluation is made to see if a pre-pay client is close to running out of money on his account. If so, and if you have an iDEN system, Trio will automatically create a short message and send it to his handset to alert him. If he has run out of pre-pay funds, his unit will be automatically turned off by Trio. It's like having 2 extra employees for free! |
|
|
|
Invoices |
| Trio is so automatic, it can actually print the invoices and have them distributed the way you have selected (some to a printer, some eMailed, some automatically faxed). But we feel that you would like to be alerted that Invoices are about the be produced. We also believe that you might like to look at some of them first. So, in that light... each day that has been setup to be a weekly or one of your monthly billing cycle days will trigger a reminder to the appropriate Trio desktop. From there, your Trio operator can decide how to proceed. |
