GenWatch3 NetVista - remotely view all ATIA activity live

GenWatch3® NetVista (GW3-NV) is our third generation tool to give you a view of how your Motorola SmartZone, Omnilink, ASTRO® or Dimetra system is operating. GW3-NV uses TCP/IP to 'listen' to GenSZAI which, is 'listening' to your ATIA (Air Traffic Interface Application) stream. This allows you to have GW3-NV anywhere on your LAN or WAN and still see the activity on your system. GW3-NV can be viewed across a high speed VPN connection as well. GenWatch3 NetVista can show you live activity on all of your channels and all of your sites. GW3-NV is a home for launching all of the History reports that Genesis has created (and those that you might want to create).

Requirements

  • Motorola ATIA option must be installed and running on SmartZone.
  • GW3-NV LIVE windows will operate on any pre FlexATIA versions 3.1 - 4.1.
  • GW3-NV Reports will work on SmartZone 3.x - SmartZone 7.x (FlexATIA).
  • GW3-NV requires that GenSZAI be installed and running.
  • GW3-NV requires network connectivity to GenSZAI.
  • GW3-NV can operate on virtually any PC that is running Windows 2000, 2003 or XPpro.
  • GW3-NV requires a network license from Genesis to operate.

GenWatch3 NetVista Features
All Activity Window
It is a filterable and colorable view of all ATIA data packets that come through. You can elect to see every minute piece of information or only the pieces that you want to watch. You can color each type of data packet to help you identify diagnostics, affiliations or anything you wish. You can pause the display and then tell it to resume. All in all, this one window has the power to tell you everything you need to know about your system, the instant that it happens. The Core bundle comes with one 'instance' of this module. You can easily license more copies of the All Activity Module that can be viewed from other computers.

Channel View Screens
If there is one screen in GW3 NV that tells you almost everything you need to know, it is the Channel View. Most of our customers leave this screen up 24/7. Channel View works on the smallest SmartNet to the largest multi-Zone trunking networks. You can make the channel grid font small or HUGE. You can spread it across 4 monitors so you can see all zones, sites and channels in one glance. You can see busies and radio rejects and ‘dead’ sites and call types and aliases, and the list goes on and on.

This is one of the new views showing how it could look on a typical SmartNet system. This shows a 10 channel system. The background image, the size of the channel blocks, the font and the colors are all adjustable by the user. Anything starting with GW$ is an alias that was assigned by GenWatch3. It is a simple task to change these to aliases that are meaningful to you.

This is the Totally Summarized view of a single site. Each site is represented by the larger block, and the very small blocks are the channels. In this view, you do not see radio or Talkgroup IDs. You simply see the activity on the channels. Likely in a SmartNet setting, you would not use this view much, but as you will see further down the page, it can be very valuable for SmartZone installations.

This is a typical Channel view on a SmartZone system with the Information Panel turned off. This gives you the most screen real estate on which to view your channel activity. This CAN be spanned across many monitors and thus greatly increased in size. Remember that the background images can be set by the user.

While this is not a normal view that you would have open on your desktop, this illustrates the point that the Channel Module screen, when used on a SmartZone system, does really track the channel usage on all sites. Here, all sites are MINIMIZED allowing the user to easily choose the site(s) to maximize.

This shows that the user can set the font and the size to anything desired.

This shows that the size of the channel boxes can be adjusted to suit the taste of the user. If a large font is being used, the box should be larger to accommodate the font.

Each call type has its own color. By default, the colors are set as you can see in the image to the right. BUT...the user can easily change the colors to suit his taste and needs.

We caught an emergency call and captured the screen so you can see how that looks.

You can set your Site Idle intervals. This tells GenWatch3 NetVista how long to wait before notifying you that a site has not received activity.

Busies are shown in several ways. In the lower left panel, the active busy call appears red. Also, the header bar on the site, glows orange, and at the bottom of the Channel Module screen, you can see the total busy count in bold red font.

Watching Radio Rejects is as simple as viewing the middle panel on the Channel Module screen.

On the Channel Module screen, we show the channel and site that are the source of a call. As an example, looking at the screen on the right, the source site and channel for a group call is indicated by the red box that we have added. You can see that it is the source by the @ symbol in the upper right corner of the channel block. The yellow squares that we have added help you to see the other channels on other sites that are involved in the same call.

click for larger image

This shows active Group, Private and Patch calls so you can see the variety of colors presented for the various call types. Private call is in blue so you can easily see that the PVT call is occurring on Site 19 channel 2 and site 20 channel 3. You'll also notice that the same radio ID is showing on both sites. This will update as the PTT volleys back and forth, but it will still involve the same two channels on the same two sites.

This is a Zone Summary view. This is a great way to look at all channels on all sites and even all, or almost all Zones! Each 'block' is a site and the small squares inside each block are the channels. The channel color shows the type of call that is happening at that instant. You can also see that the user can select his own image as a background to dress up the NOC!

If you right click on a Zone, you get a box with three tabs. This tab shows the high level hourly statistics for that Zone. As you might guess, if you right click on a Site or a Channel, you get the same instant information about that item. Below you can see the other tabs.
