SmartZone ATIA
This may sound obvious, but this must be installed and operating on your SmartZone, Omnilink or Dimetra system. We must have access to the ATIA data stream at the place where your hardware will be located. ATIA is a SmartZone feature that can be enabled in your system. ATIA stands for Air Traffic Information Access. If you are not sure if you have the ATIA port feature, you can do the following.....
For SmartZone Version 3.x, go to the Database Server Terminal. If you have Version 2.03 use the Zone Controller User Terminal, then follow the rest of the steps:
1. Log into the terminal for Administration
2. Look for the Feature Administration Menu choice
3. Choose Show Features
4. Look for Air Traffic Information Access
5. If it says 'Y', you have it, otherwise it will say 'N'
As an alternative, you can do the following:
1. Go to the Database Server
2. Choose SmartZone Administration
3. Choose Option 6
4. Look for AIM
5. Follow the on screen choices to actually see the ATIA stream
Ordering Requirements
- System ID(s) of the system(s) to be to which GenSZAI will be attached.
- Physical address for end customer is needed for shipping and our records.
- Name of person that will be responsible for operating GenSZAI. This is to ensure the highest customer service possible.
- Customer and Genesis must work together to size the GenSZAI machine. Each installation can be different due to call volume and network topography. Genesis will obtain more specific information, such as IP addresses, etc. near the time of installation.
Genesis prefers that customers purchase their own hardware and have it shipped to Genesis for installation and configuration of the GenSZAI / GW3-NV software. Genesis will then ship the completed hardware to the customer for the upcoming Genesis visit. Customer is required to mount all hardware and complete all wiring necessary. Customer is responsible to make sure that all network connections are ready and operating before Genesis is on site for activation of our software and training. If this is not available, Genesis reserves the right to bill additional days of 'wait time' to the customer and any costs surrounding change of flights, etc.
- Valid purchase order, letter of credit, cash, or bank wire transfer.
- Customer will be responsible for all taxes and import fees.
- Specify method of shipment. Our standard method for Genesis software is FOB Tyler, Texas and is as follows: 1) Domestic - UPS Ground 2) International - Federal Express or DHL If the customer needs special handling, please specify. ALL SHIPPING COSTS WILL BE ADDED TO THE INVOICE.
We suggest that shipping for new installations be timed so that all Motorola Trunk System installation is complete and system is tested so GenSZAI can have real data to assist with installation and training.
The Genesis standard license agreement is for operating GenSZAI on one CPU at one customer location. All Support Services are billed annually in advance. No support will be given without payment.

System Requirements |
 |
|
 |
GenSZAI has three main modules:
- Reader Module
- Data Processor Module
- Data Server Module
|
Systems
- Motorola SmartZone™
- Omnilink™
- Dimetra™ with ATIA port
- Current SmartZone™ version compatibility, 3.0 to 7.1
- We support FlexATIA
- NEW GenSZAI6, a complete upgrade that is 10x faster and more efficient than our GenSZAI v5!
Our design allows GenSZAI's three required modules to reside on the same computer, on three separated computers for large networks or any other appropriate combination necessary to meet your network requirements. The design chosen depends on your SmartZone™ network topology, call volume, and mission critical nature. The following information gives you our minimum hardware recommendations based on example system sizes and current computer technology.

Hard Disk Space |
 |
|
 |
The amount of hard disk space required for the GenSZAI database is of critical importance! The amount of hard disk space required is related to the following considerations:
- Average number of calls processed per day
- Number of RF Channels
- Amount of time you want to store the historical data
- Amount of 'wiggle room' you want to allow on your hard drive.
As a rule of thumb, you can apply the following formula:
- 50,000 calls/day x 365 days = 20 GB of disk space needed
- Adequate room for possible re-build or query = 3x disk space needed
This example indicates that to store one year of GenSZAI data on a system with an average number of channels and which generates approximately 50,000 call per day, you will need 60 GB of hard disk space. We have created a spreadsheet with pre-calculated storage requirements available here.
