GenWatch3 runs on a standard desktop PC. Genesis can serve as a turnkey operation, providing pre-configured computers. Or, you have the option to provide your own computer.
Input Channel Hardware
Certain hardware is required to listen to the nearest Control Channel that is part of the system.
The RF-modem (typically an MCS2000 or ASTRO® Spectra) and RIMII (TRN-7962 or TDN-8224B) units are usually found in existing installations where there is also SITE LENS, SystemWatch, SIMS, etc.

GenWatch3 Group View bridges a gap that exists in many dispatch centers that are faced with one or more issues:
Group View alleviates these issues at an astoundingly reasonable price.
On screen animations help grab attention. Selectable sound files indicate various states. For example, when an Emergency is initiated, the "Emergency" sound is heard. Talkgroup windows may be resized to show the last caller, up to the last 30 callers. Group View additionally displays the radio ID, Alias, Date and Time of last call, a special location field (not GPS), and a tag that identifies a radio in a special way, such as stolen or abuser. The All Activity window shows PTT activity in time order for all talkgroup windows that are open.
One of the most useful screens in GenWatch3, this is where the rubber meets the road. Most of our customers leave this screen up 24/7. Channel View works on the smallest SMARTNET to the largest multi-zone trunking networks. The Channel screen can be customized in a multiple of configurations, from font sizes, colors, panel sizes, background images, information displayed and more. It can also be stretched across multiple monitors.
Customized views:
GenWatch3 Archiver has the ability to save all Control Channel Data for months and even years with no loss of detail.
Once a data packet is decoded, it is stored in one of several data tables. The amount of needed hard drive space is dependent upon:
In general, the larger the drive, the better.
The ability to know the most recent talkgroup that a particular radio is affiliated with can be challenging. The GenWatch3 Affiliation module makes it child's play.
Monitor by Talkgroup
From the left pane in the window, talkgroups can be selected. Each will open its own window to display an up-to-the-second list of radios that are currently affiliated in that talkgroup.
Affiliation Monitor Search
This is a powerful search function which finds radios and their affiliated talkgroups. Search by ID, partial ID, Alias, partial Alias, restricted by date/time range, and more.
Affiliation Monitor History
The next question is: "...so where has this unit been?" On a SMARTZONE system, a radio's history may be found by following the sites and talkgroups it visited within a date/time range. On a SMARTNET system, a radio's history may be found from the talkgroups with which is affiliated.
Being able to see what is happening at a simple glance is a wonderful thing. This screen quickly shows the most important system statistics from the last minute, last 15 minutes, last 30 minutes, last hour, last 3 hours, or last 6, 12 and 24 hours. Data may be simply captured and printed from this screen. Inside System Summary are many graphing variations that are dynamically updated every minute (adjustable).
The optional GenWatch3 reports provides comprehensive reports of stored data.
When things happen on your system, you want to know about them without having to hover over a screen, watching every packet. Trigger handles that for you.
Trigger is setup similarly to the way filters are setup in MS Outlook. It builds a sentence that describes what the Trigger is to do. One event can handle up to three tasks:
Some example events to trigger on are:
The Trigger module operates with the OnTrak USB I/O device. Through the GenWatch3 Trigger module, each device can close up to 8 different relays. These may be used to sound alarms, open garage doors, etc. The sky's the limit!
