System Activity Summary Module Option

System Activity Summary
Being able to see what is happening at a simple glance is a wonderful thing. This screen will quickly show the most important statistics about your system in the last minute, last 15 minutes, last 30 minutes, last hour, last 3 hours, last 6, 12 and 24 hours. There is a simple way to capture this screen and print it, too. Inside System Summary are many graphing variations that are dynamically updated every minute (adjustable).

With GenWatch3 reports (available optionally), you get comprehensive reports of stored data.

Trigger Module Option

When things happen on your system, you want to know about them without having to hover over a screen, watching every packet. Trigger handles that for you.

You set up Trigger very similar to the way you set up filters in Outlook. It builds a sentence that describes what the Trigger is to do. You can have one event do up to three things: (1) alert the desktop, (2) play a wav file, (3) close a relay.

Some example events to trigger on are:

  1. A certain DIAG message appears for the 'n'th time in 'x' time period.
  2. When a certain radio sends a certain Status.
  3. When you DON'T hear from a radio is 'x' period of time (we call this the Lone Worker Alarm).
  4. When a radio presses his Emergency button and it is not acknowledged in 'x' seconds.

Activity Windows CORE Module (also Optional for Clients)

It is a filterable and colorable view of all Control Channel data packets that come through. You can elect to see every minute piece of information or only the pieces that you want to watch. You can color each type of data packet to help you identify diagnostics, affiliations or anything you wish. You can pause the display and then tell it to resume. All in all, this one window has the power to tell you everything you need to know about your system, the instant that it happens.

If you see a data packet that you want to know more about, simply click on that line and instantly you will see more information than you knew existed! This has incredible power to help diagnose system issues and problems.

GroupView Module Option

GroupViewGenWatch3 GroupView (GW3-GroupView) bridges a gap that exists in many small dispatch centers. There are places where, for various reasons, a full blown console cannot be afforded. You may be dispatching 4 to 30 Talkgroups and to do it, you might have discrete, individual radios all sitting in the room or an older console. You may have had a technician create a way to use one microphone for all of the radios. But there is still one major thing missing...You cannot ID the last radio that called in. And sometime in heavy traffic, you have no idea who called in first! Add to that no way to be alerted when an officer or worked presses his Emergency button, and you have a potential mess on your hands. GW3-GroupView handles this for you at a price that will astound you. It is also possible that you have an older SIP, SIMS or SystemWatch that is in process of breathing its last breath and you are looking for an inexpensive way to simply ID who is talking.

On screen animations to get attention. Selectable wave files to indicate various states. For example, when an Emergency is initiated, you can play the "EMERGENCY" .wav file, or play a siren warble of your own. Resize and reshape the individual Talkgroup windows to show the last caller or up to the last 30 callers. Show the radio ID, Alias, Date and Time of last call, special 'location' field (not GPS), a 'tag' that identifies a radio in a special way, (ie: stolen, abuser, and more).  The bottom 'All Activity' will show PTT activity in time order for all Talkgroup windows that are open.

Channel Status Module Option- NEW Version!

Channel Status
If you have seen GenWatchXL and even earlier versions of GenWatch3  over the years, you know that this is one of the great screens that we have. One system owner tells us that he leaves this view up on his screen 90% of the time! As of March, 2007, we have completely recreated the Channel Module to give you a multitude of viewing options. Read more here!

Data Archive Option

GenWatch3 Archiver has the ability to save all of your Control Channel Data for months and even years with no loss of detail.

Once a data packet is decoded, it is stored in one of several data tables, depending on the packet and depending on how you have setup GenWatch3. GW3 allows you to store everything, nothing and all variations in between. This includes RAW Control Channel data! How much hard drive space you will need is related to several things:

  • Your daily call volume.
  • How long you want to keep the history in each type of table in the database?
  • Do you want to store the RAW control channel data?

In general, the larger the drive, the better. At the price of hard drives these days, it is very inexpensive (less than $150) to get even a 120GHD and have more room than you want, plus some "wiggle room".
Affiliation Monitor Module Option

click for larger imageAffiliation Monitor
Being able to KNOW the most recent Talkgroup that a particular radio is affiliated with can be challenging. The GW3 Affiliation module makes it child's play. There are three basic screens, from which you can know everything about radio affiliation.

Affiliation Monitor By Talkgroup
From the left pane in the window, you can select which Talkgroups you want to monitor. Each will open its own window so you can see an up to the second list of radios that are currently affiliated in that Talkgroup.

Affiliation Monitor Search
In this screen, you can find a radio to see what Talkgroup it is currently affiliated with. The search is quite powerful. You can search by ID, partial ID, Alias, partial Alias, restrict the date/time range, and more.

Affiliation Monitor History
The next question is: "...so where has this unit been?" If this is a SmartZone system, you can follow the sites and Talkgroups that the radio has visited within a date/time range. If it is a SmartNet system, you can see the history of Talkgroups that he has affiliated with.
