Core Software

This is the collection of minimum required modules for Control Channel based GenWatch3^®. This can be operated as a standalone GenWatch3 or GenWatch3 Host. This includes: RIMII Input, Launchpad, Security Manager, License Connection Manager, SysLog, Alias Manager, SystemSummary and All Activity modules. Behind the scenes it also keeps the most recent 2 weeks of RAW Control Channel data for diagnostic purposes. See below for additional modules.

GenWatch3 Multi-User Option

Order one per additional networked user. The Host Bundle comes with capability for up to 24 client users. There are Host considerations that need to be made when having over 5 client connections. These can be addressed by Genesis Engineering directly with the client.

Second User Terminal Support Provides software that allows the connection and use of a second user terminal. Requires User Terminal and cable or modems to be ordered separately.

System Summary

This is a summary grid of all system activity. Summaries are created every 1 min, 5 min,15 min, 60 min, 3 hr,6 hr,12 hr, or 24 hr intervals. It also includes quick graphing of that information.

Group Module

Talkgroup dispatch call activity, one TG per sizable and colorable window. Includes the GenWatch3 Alias Database Manager. Unlimited quantity of TGs. GUI interface shows talkgroup based dispatch call activity, most recent activity for any open talkgroup window, Emergency display, short term logging and alerts. Optionally, a setting can be changed to turn this window into simple basic talkgroup based PTT activity window that can be resized. Each pane can be also sized and colored and all fonts can be changed. Fill the window with as many talkgroups as you can fit, based on their individual size. The Emergency display can still be visible.

Data Archiver Module

This parses and stores all decoded Control Channel data from all connected systems. The Commander Host bundle comes with the online data limited to one year. All data can be easily archived off to CD, DVD, network drive, etc. for long term storage and then be available later for reporting needs. This one year limit does require purchasing SQL for Workgroups (supplied with Host bundle).

Core Reports Suite

These reports are a combination of approximately 24 Excel Reports & GenWatch3 Reports. Customers can use our reports as templates to create their own reports. Email, fax, print, extract data. Anything you can do with Excel, you can do with these reports.

Trigger Module

This shows a separate window to show all Emergency Alarms, acknowledge and log all alarms with notes.

External Alarm Relay Box

This allows external lights and alarms to be triggered from various events such as the detection of Emergency Alarms, DIAGs, etc.

RCM Comment

The functionality and work flow of all GenWatch3 modules is virtually identical to that of Site Lens. This is by design and at Motorola's request when we created the SIMSII replacement. We have enhanced a few things to make each module work better, but the user will find this to be very comfortable territory.

Emergency Alarm

Separate window to show all Emergency Alarms, acknowledge and log all alarms with notes.

Dynamic Regrouping Module

Dynamic Regrouping allows a user to dynamically assign a radio or radios to a different talkgroup.

Storm Plans Module

Storm Plans provides the capability to execute pre-defined sets of regrouping commands with a few keystrokes. Requires D699 option.

Selective Inhibit Module

Selective Radio Inhibit allows the user to selectively disable/re-enable a subscriber radio.

Status Message Module

This is an enhanced Status & Message allowing ACK back to the sender. Status/Message Display provides the user with a display of Status/Message information sent from properly-equipped subscriber radios.

Database Snapshot Module

Database Snapshot allows a user to retrieve information from the SIMSII database on the recent state of a particular radio.

Call Alert

Call Alert allows the user to selectively address a properly equipped subscriber radio to honk their horn, etc. This sends a Call Alert from GW3 to an individual radio.

Radio Check

Radio Check allows the user to ping a radio to determine the current affiliated talkgroup for a radio or selected radios.

Remote Monitor

Remote Monitor allows the user to send an over-the-air command to a properly equipped mobile or portable, causing the device to remotely key its transmitter and to activate its microphone for a pre-defined length of time. Radio Trace allows the user to send an over-the-air command to a properly equipped mobile or portable, causing the device to remotely key its transmitter for a pre-defined length of time. Feature is used for lost radio recovery. This two features are  grouped together.

CAD Interface

This allows CAD systems to receive Motorola Standard information and send Motorola standard CAD information. Allows CAD to communicate with Control Channel. Good for one CAD client. This uses the SIMSII CAD protocol. The document for this is readily available from Genesis.

CAD Interface

Order for additional CAD Interface connections. Between 1 and 3 additional licenses may be ordered. The Commander Host includes 4 pre-licensed connections.

CAD Interface

This option must be added to an order if this is the first time any GenWatch3 CADI software is placed at a customer location. After that time, it is not mandatory. This is good for 40 hours of telephone and computer remote consulting.

SMT Access

EzSaveWin is a standalone software for communicating with the SMT and it can be launched from within GenWatch3 or directly from Windows. It operates with SMARTNET 6809 and MTC3600 type Central Controllers that have an SMT (System Manager Terminal) port. EzSW can do ASCII and HEX CSAVE backup and restore for both the SAC and AUTH sides of the Central Controller; DIAG logging and English interpretation; Timed, scheduled backups; GRD> command prompt access; Windows based screens to insulate users from the GRD> prompt; extensive log files showing activities done on the Central Controller; much more. Price allows access up to 6 total SMARTNET Central Controllers. Contact Genesis for higher capacity.

PC Included

The GenWatch3 Security design allows anyone with proper authority to change talkgroup assignments from any authorized location.

Channel Module

The Channel Module graphically displays channel status for each channel on the system. Includes window showing all diagnostics and busies. Also includes a window that shows global system settings reported by the Control Channel and system rejects.

RF-modem + RIMII

GenWatch3 can handle input from up to 10 RIMII units(5 systems) simultaneously on a single copy of GenWatch3 with some restrictions. Multiple GenWatch3 instances can then feed into a single, large database. So, really there is no physical limit on the number of systems that can be monitored simultaneously.

Note: If you are purchasing GenWatch3 Commander Host Bundle, it is configured to handle up to 20 systems while listening to only one at a time. This is what we are certified with Motorola to handle. Contact Genesis after your warranty period for operating on additional systems simultaneously.  You will need one GW3-RIMII for each system that you are monitoring and one for each system that you are 'talking to' with RCM activities.

Radio Affiliations

Displays Affiliations and Deaffiliations. Search for and display current affiliation of a single ID is included.

CloneWatch Module

CloneWatch allows live watching of usage and traffic to determine if a radio ID is cloned. Findings are shown as a probability that a radio is cloned (0% to 100%). Findings are also logged for reporting.

Radio Discovery Report

This is a specialized report to aid in Rebanding or auditing radio programming. This will uniquely search the database and report on all radios, all talkgroups each radio has used, all services each radio has used and much more. It is an excellent audit tool.

System Grade of Service Report

This is a highly specialized and informative report. There are two versions that come in this report group. One will automatically select your Busy Hour from a range of dates and then calculate Site Utilization, show busies, Channel Usage, Erlangs and much much more. Future versions will also allow reporting of multiple auto-busy hours over a date range (daily as an example). The second version allows you to specify a particular day and hour for the same report.

SysVista

SysVista is an overall view of your system activity from an interface that looks like the dashboard of a car!

External Alarm Relay Box

This contains 8 isolated relays to allows external lights and alarms to be triggered from various events such as the detection of Emergency Alarms, DIAGs, etc. Works with the Trigger Module.

This should be added if more than two COM ports are needed on the PC

RIMII - With Cable

All RIMII units must be purchased from Motorola. Genesis does not sell these units. If RCM features are present, there needs to be two RF-modems and two RIMII units on each instance of GenWatch3.

RF-Modem

All RF-modems must be purchased from Motorola. Genesis does not sell these units. There is a very limited quantitiy of MCS2000 radios available. Please check with order admin before ordering. Genesis has an EF Johnson radio package that can be substituted and act as the RF-modem and RIMII combined.

EFJ RF-Modem

EFJ RS53SL Radio (700-800MHz) Includes: interfaces and connectors from radio to PC; Power Supply; Firmware for 3600 and P25 systems.

Not included: Antenna, Coax, UPS, and Installation

Order must contain operating frequencies. Programming permission letter will be forwarded to customer for signature so Genesis can program radio. Price includes Genesis programming of the radio.

PC Included

A Genesis certified CPU can be used as a host or client machine. The GenWatch3 Commander Host bundle price includes a PC.

A second NIC is needed in each GW3 Host machine. This is to accommodate the EFJ RF-modem Topaz interface from the radio to the PC. This will be installed as a card and clearly marked as the Input for the EFJ Radio. We also supply a RJ45 crossover cable to connect the radio to this port. Even if we transition back to an RS232 connection from the radio to the PC in the future, we will leave this second NIC in the machine. The native Ethernet connection in each machine will be used for possible connection to a customer’s LAN and/or Internet.

Note: Other hardware may be needed, such as: monitor, UPS, printer, cabling or modems for the SMT access, ethernet cables, switches, etc.
