Channel Status Module - Version 3.2.0.1

This is the classic Rack View. We have drawn enough rack space to accommodate up to 28 "repeaters". As each channel is used, it will appear in the rack. You will see the ID and the Talkgroup (there is not room for alias information here due to the small size of the channel blocks but it does appear in the other views). The color and the description at the bottom of the repeater indicates the type of call. This view shows the three panes within the Channel Status window on the left. The top pane allows you to see that we have built in the ability to monitor individual sites within a SmartZone system. This would generally be done via the ATIA data input. Under some conditions, you would lose the next feature (DIAG) in that situation.  The middle pane shows site diagnostics that come across the monitored site's control channel. These diagnostics stay RED until they are "acknowledged" by the operator. Simply clicking on a DIAG means that you acknowledge the diagnostic. The bottom pane shows you any busies that have occurred since you started GenWatch3®. While radios are in the busy queue, they will be RED. When the busy condition clears, the line will go black. The last 500 busies will show in the scrollable window.

This is one of the new views showing how it could look on a typical SmartNet system. This shows a 10 channel system. The background image, the size of the channel blocks, the font and the colors are all adjustable by the user. Anything starting with GW$ is an alias that was assigned by GenWatch3. It is a simple task to change these to aliases that are meaningful to you.

This is the Totally Summarized view of a single site. Each site is represented by the larger block, and the very small blocks are the channels. In this view, you do not see radio or Talkgroup IDs. You simply see the activity on the channels. Likely in a SmartNet setting, you would not use this view much, but as you will see further down the page, it can be very valuable for SmartZone installations.

This is a typical Channel view on a SmartZone system with the Information Panel turned off. This gives you the most screen real estate on which to view your channel activity. This CAN be spanned across many monitors and thus greatly increased in size. Remember that the background images can be set by the user.

While this is not a normal view that you would have open on your desktop, this illustrates the point that the Channel Module screen, when used on a SmartZone system, does really track the channel usage on all sites. Here, all sites are MINIMIZED allowing the user to easily choose the site(s) to maximize. click for larger image
This shows that the user can set the font and the size to anything desired.

This shows that the size of the channel boxes can be adjusted to suit the taste of the user. If a large font is being used, the box should be larger to accommodate the font.

Each call type has its own color. By default, the colors are set as you can see in the image to the right. BUT... the user can easily change the colors to suit his taste and needs.

We caught an emergency call and captured the screen so you can see how that looks.

Watching Radio Rejects is as simple as viewing the middle panel on the Channel Module screen.

On the Channel Module screen, we show the channel and site that are the source of a call. As an example, looking at the screen on the right, the source site and channel for a group call is indicated by the red box that we have added. You can see that it is the source by the @ symbol in the upper right corner of the channel block. The yellow squares that we have added help you to see the other channels on other sites that are involved in the same call.

Busies are shown in several ways. In the lower left panel, the active busy call appears red. Also, the header bar on the site, glows orange, and at the bottom of the Channel Module screen, you can see the total busy count in bold red font.

This shows active Group, Private and Patch calls so you can see the variety of colors presented for the various call types. Private call is in blue so you can easily see that the PVT call is occurring on Site 19 channel 2 and site 20 channel 3. You'll also notice that the same radio ID is showing on both sites. This will update as the PTT volleys back and forth, but it will still involve the same two channels on the same two sites.

This is a Zone Summary view. This is a great way to look at all channels on all sites and even all, or almost all Zones! Each 'block' is a site and the small squares inside each block are the channels. The channel color shows the type of call that is happening at that instant. You can also see that the user can select their own image as a background to dress up the NOC!

If you right click on a Zone, you get a box with three tabs. This tab shows the high level hourly statistics for that Zone. As you might guess, if you right click on a Site or a Channel, you get the same instant information about that item. Below you can see the other tabs.
