GADI Architecture - Technological Overview

Robust Technology
GADI uses the latest layered programming technologies. It is robust, allowing for fault tolerance in the solution.

Components to Run GADI

  • SideCore Server License (one per customer)
  • SideCore Client License (per 10 Consoles)
  • Optional REDUNDANT software licenses (as needed)
  • GenSZAI ATIA Reader / CMAF (one per Zone)
  • RiverBoard
  • SideCar
  • Server and GenSZAI Reader Hardware
  • Installation / Training / Maintenance

SideCore Componentry
SideCore has two pieces:

  1. SideCore Server Module
    • SSM keeps track of all consoles and monitored TGs
    • SSM listens to ATIA and determines what "extra" information needs to be fed to dispatchers.
  2. SideCore Client Module
    • SCM receives and displays extra information.
    • SCM allows look up of even more ATIA based information
    • SCM hooks into the MCC7500 software to control the MCC7500.
    • SCM provides interface to the RiverBoard and SideCar.

SideCore Server Detail

Information about every affiliation, every call, every emergency and lots more is fed to GADI from the Zone Controller ATIA port. GADI makes instantaneous decisions based on that information and immediately passes alarms and general information to the SideCore clients that need the information.

GADI - Genesis-Aided Dispatch Interface

GADI Overview
RiverBoardHot off the grill at the Genesis kitchen, GADI (Genesis-Aided Dispatch Interface) is a time and labor saving enhancement for MCC7500 users. GADI takes the great features inherent in the MCC7500 — aka Vortex — and enhances them in an integrated software and hardware solution. GADI improves dispatcher effectiveness for current MCC7500 users already connected to a SmartZone®, Dimetra or ASTRO® system. It is also an appetizing value consideration for those in design phases of a new system or system upgrades.

How did we cook it up? We had a customer who wished to order — off the menu — a time and labor saving solution for the MCC7500. We listened to their ideas. Then, we put our expertise in SmartZone and ATIA data to work and developed the recipe for GADI.

It also helps to have the "keys to the kitchen". Genesis is licensed to integrate enhancements to the MCC7500, so we had the ability to turn a great idea into reality. GADI is the gourmet result of customer ideas blended with Genesis' ingenuity.

  • SideCore (Software)
SideCore is helper software that sits on the MCC7500 desktop. It allows easy access to defining Patch Groups, Unmonitored Emergencies, Private Calls, and lookup of the last known Affiliation. More features are on the way!
    • Enhances the ability of the MCC7500 to report emergency information to the dispatchers
    • Simplifies patch group creation
    • Simplifies private conversation setupclick for larger image

Unmonitored Emergencies
Unmonitored Emergencies are when an emergency is pressed by a unit on a TG that is not being monitored by any dispatchers. It happens. SideCore has rules that allows the alarm to go to selected or all consoles. The TG resource is automatically added to the console for immediate action.

  • RiverBoard (Keyboard)
RiverBoard is available in 84 and 128-key models as well as customizable module blocks to allow further expansion. It allows instant one button access to:

    • Five patch groups
    • Private conversation logs
    • Emergency alarms
    • Specialty tones
    • Programmable function keys
    • Can be easily customized

  • SideCar (Keyboard attachment)
click for larger imageSits to the left or right of the Riverboard. It contains a trackball and numeric keypad and provides its functions using minimal desktop space. SideCar allows left or right hand access to:
    • Trackball pointing device (dispatchers can also use their own mouse if desired)
    • Number pad for selecting Radio IDs (the more you type the narrower your results get)
    • Arrow keys

  • RiverBoard + SideCar
    • Both RiverBoard and SideCar can be angled from 5 to 30° tilt
    • Both connect to the MCC7500 via USB 2.0
    • RiverBoard key placement is flexible
    • MTBF= 50 million operations
    • Removable keycaps for cleaning, changing, etc.
