CloneWatch

  • How many cloned radios exist on the system?
  • Are hackers doing more than listening in?
  • Who is stealing airtime?

Most likely, cloned radios are stealing valuable airtime on your trunking system. Days and weeks can be spent trying to discover the culprits.

Enter Genesis CloneWatch.

CloneWatch from Genesis is a powerful add-on tool to our industry accepted GenWatch3® Trunking Management Suite which identifies and helps eliminate cloned radios. It monitors resources (talkgroups, sites and units) for suspicious activity. CloneWatch provides information every time a radio keys up, every site that was visited, and every second of airtime used or stolen. Use it on a SmartZone®, SmartNet®, Dimetra or P25 system as a powerful weapon against hackers.

How it Works

CloneWatch listens to the Control Channel (3600), the CAI (P25) or the ATIA (SmartZone) for user established parameters. CloneWatch alerts the user in the event system violations, such as:

  • The same ID appears on a different talkgroup at exactly the same time or within a defined period of time
  • A restricted (not permitted) ID or talkgroup is used
  • A radio keys up at night which is normally used during the day (or vice-versa)
  • A radio keys up, then 30 minutes later the same ID affiliates or keys up on a site that is 200 miles away. According to the Impossible Drive Distance rule, it is likely a clone (SmartZone systems).
